When I graduated from Dartmouth College several years ago, I was so excited to start my first “real job”—with benefits and a salary that paid more than $7.50/hr! However, I quickly realized that when looking at all these employee benefits, my shiny new diploma would be most useful for mopping up the cold sweat that developed when I tried to choose between the numerous retirement account options.
I started this site as a way to share what I’ve learned since then about personal finance, ways to increase your income, and chronicle interesting economic trends and businesses.
While I hope this site has something for everybody, I’m particularly passionate about supporting fellow millennials and women taking charge of their finances. I witnessed how my grandmother became overwhelmed when she became the sole manager of the household finances for the first time in her late 80’s. While I believe it’s never too late to learn about personal finance, she might have avoided stress and had more options if she had started her personal finance journey sooner. With that said, let’s get started!
